The Color of the Colored Part of the Wizard of Oz Movie

As a mixed media artist, I predominantly work on canvas, employing a diverse range of materials such as pigment sticks, water-soluble pencils and crayons, oil and soft pastels, acrylic paint and ink, markers, spray paint, and gold foil. My current focus is on exploring how the filter in my brain modifies my visual perception, aiming to convey the unique sensations of various visual disturbances to the viewer. I strive for my paintings to reveal their history and offer clues about their creation, hoping that viewers will find personal connections or recognize familiar elements. My art often centers around themes of community, connection, joy, belonging, expression, and explanation. I wish for the creative journey of my mixed media work to resonate with both myself and the viewer. Upon completion, I hope that standing before my work will allow individuals to feel the energy and joy I've invested into each piece. The canvas's history, with all its layers of paint and marks, is theirs to uncover and keep. My intentions for each piece are initially inscribed and then evolve through a process of addition, alteration, subtraction, exploration, and reflection.
