FindTape GLW-HZ Glow in the Dark Egress Hazard Tape is a cost-effective photoluminescent marking tape used to warn people of hazardous areas during the day or night. The angled, black/white chevron pattern is highly visible in the day to warn of dangerous areas, walkways, steps, and more. During low or no light periods (such as night or in the event of a power outage) the alternating chevron pattern will photoluminesce (a mild green color) in the white portion and alternate with the black.GLW-HZ tape has a permanent self-adhesive base that sticks to most surfaces, can be recharged using natural or artificial light, and the non-radioactive photoluminescent powders have a long lifespan. The glow hazard tape is 11.8 millicandelas per square meter at five minutes, and photoluminescence decreases to 4.6 millicandelas after 10 minutes. After 20 minutes they are 1.6 millicandelas but still clearly visible in a totally dark room to the night-adjusted eye. However, it would not compare in brightness to a standard flashlight. Please note that if you apply this product onto a porous surface such as wood, concrete or stone, the manufacturer recommends using a surface primer prior to application to help create a stable substrate.
